Tanja Bogo
„untitled”, 2008
installation
The relationship between history, legends, and myths is the central theme in Tanja Bogo’s work. (...) The myth of the ‘Wild West’, (...) recent German history, (...) the mutual relationship between reality and the illusion of reality are aspects of interest to Tanja Bogo. (...) She does not just construct forms that are not what they pretend to be, but also uses materials that are not what they seem. The form imitates the form, the material imitates material – Tanja Bogo’s ‘forgeries’ are imperfect simulations of an already simulated world.
