We humans don’t have much at our disposal to come into balance. What dominates is fragility, deviation from course, and absence where we should be present. Edges are rarely straight and never run the way we anticipated. Your stilts and keels, overturned things and isolated forms confront us with the instability and brittleness of our existence; they shake, tremble and lurch our helplessly habitual self-perception. Loneliness and the awareness of dishevelled order. Your sculptures slip by our attempts to take them in with a fast and easy interpretation; but at the same time -- through their simplicity, precision and meticulous structure -- they point to the intellectually comprehensible. This tension opens up a space of the desire for clarity, in which no promises are made but all hope is in motion. Accordingly, the dominating colours and their application are blue glaze, grey, white and slightly glistening metal surfaces, which deny a distinct refection. You do not have to wrest this desire from the materials; through your tender treatment of the aluminium, concrete and wood, they seem to articulate the wish for boundless perfection on their own. But your sculptures do not content themselves with opening the space of desire; they enter into it to work on the understanding of purifying structures. With this aim they renegotiate sculpture’s classic question: weight, edition, the power to maintain balance, the relation of inner- and outer dimensions and so on...
