The name “Pentaphonic Brass“ refers to the ensemble’s instrumentation, five (penta) sounding (phon) brass. In detail there are two trumpets, one horn, one trombone and one tuba – the “classical” instrumentation of a brass quintet. (...) Their multifaceted repertoire covers almost every musical style of light and classical music. (...) One main focus of their work is on the intensive study of contemporary original compositions for this instrumentation. Concerts at special places like the Duesseldorf International Airport or Industrieclub Düsseldorf conduced to the big success of Pentaphonic Brass.
