Das Leiden seiner krebskranken Frau hat Thomas in eine verzweifelte Lage gebracht. Er ruft bei der Seelsorgerin Susanne an, die nicht ahnen kann, was wirklich hinter seinem Anruf steckt. Das 15-minütige Psycho-Drama „Absolution” ist der Abschlussfilm von Regisseur Markus Sehr und Produzent Moritz Grenzebach an der ifs, internationale filmschule Köln GmbH. Kameramann Jens Nolte absolvierte mit diesem Film sein Diplom an der FH Dortmund, die damit als Koproduzent beteiligt ist. Weitere Koproduzenten sind der TV-Sender arte und die Pi Filmproduktion, eine junge Kölner Firma, deren Gesellschafter Stipendiaten des AV-Gründerzentrums NRW sind. Der Film wurde gefördert mit Mitteln der Filmstiftung NRW.
